Reader Interview Daniel S

In the battle of the streaming services, who’s your favorite and what are the shows you’re watching now.
Not sure if there’s a battle, personally, in our house, no. We definitely binge watch and kind of switch freely between Netflix and ITunes, between both of those, we can pretty much get everything we want. We have a three year old, so probably in the next year or so we’ll have to do Disney also.

It definitely feels as if we’re all stuck to our computer screens these days, hopefully that’s not true. Have you read any good books lately that you’d like to share with us and whether or not it was any good.
Sadly, I don’t really read books any more, but I do read the New York Times and the NY Post pretty much every day, so I can at least claim to be somewhat well informed on current events.

You can steal one painting or artwork from one museum and you won’t get caught, but of course you have to keep it in your house, which artist would you choose? Or which work would you choose? And why…
Wow, so that’s an awesome question, how did you know that growing up I used to love the Pink Panther and always wanted to grow up to be David Niven and a cat burglar. An artwork. I probably would do a painting. While probably not my favorite artist, although I do love his work, I think I would go for a Rembrandt, if only because it would so clearly not fit within the general décor of our home and would stand out… and besides anyone who came to visit would never believe it was real, so I’d probably get away with it.

The Green New Deal, you’ve almost certainly read or heard about it online. What’s your opinion?
I absolutely support a green new deal. I’m not sure I support some of the more ultra left wing democrats who are pushing it, but we do need a comprehensive solution to address the climate crisis and we do need to do it fast. I believe the science. And I would be willing to pay more in taxes for it. Can you put that on the record please.

Do you think that a Green New Deal would solve all of our countries woes, why or why not?
I’d like to think so, but unlikely.

The climate is changing, would you install, or have you installed solar on your home? Why or why not?
I rent, so I’m not getting solar on my house any time soon, but I would if I were to buy. A couple people in our neighborhood have solar on their roofs and they seem to like it. Lets be honest, solar isn’t exciting or fun like a Tesla, but I support and believe in environmental issues solutions, so I would spend the money on it.

The legalization of cannabis seems like a foregone conclusion, are you for or against and to what extent?
Ha, okay, so yeah I haven’t consumed pot in any way shape or form in at least ten years, but I’m not in the least bit against it. I don’t think that it should be completely legalized, where just anybody can buy it any time they like, but happy to have something probably akin to the same rules that govern alcohol.
